Capiz Electric Cooperative, Inc., (CAPELCO)launched the Barangay Line Enhancement Program (BLEP) or the 24/7 On-Grid Electrification via three- phase distribution submarine cable of Olotayan Island barangay last March 14, 2016.
National Electrification Administration (NEA) has approved a mid-year budget contract of more than 60 million pesos for it completion and in collaboration with the First District Representative of Capiz, Hon. Antonio Del Rosario, different government agencies and barangay officials, CAPELCO was determined in pursuing this project to pave way in business and tourism opportunities in almost 600 households of the said barangay.
During the groundbreaking Ceremony, NEA Deputy Administrator Edgardo Piamonte said,”The goal of NEA was to implement total electrification to provide electricity and enhance EC services to far flung areas or Sitios in the whole country”. The event was attended by some dignitaries, businessman and politicians present from the city and provincial government.
The constituents of Barangay Olotayan, Agojo and Tanza Norte were pleased to witness the ceremonial groundbreaking of the site where the Olotayan substation will be established.
