Acting General Manager Engr. Edgar D. Diaz presented the perspective of an electric distribution utility during the Committee Hearing called by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) to elucidate on the widespread power interruption from January 2-5, 2024. The Committee Hearing was convened by SP Member Hon. Aldwin Cruz-Am as chairman of the <\/a><\/span>Committee on Transportation and Public Utilities and participated by its members and with Vice Governor James Magbanua also attending.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The hearing was participated by representatives of various sectors in Capiz especially those adversely affected by the widespread and prolonged power interruption. Invited also as resource persons were representatives of the Department of Energy (DOE), National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), National Transmission Corporation (TRANSCO), Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines Inc. (IEMOP) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) who shared their respective perspective on the event that transpired in the first week of January 2024.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan is expected to frame their own policy position, propose measures to prevent the recurrence of the incident and to look into the root cause of the power interruption.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
