The Renewable Energy (RE) Act of 2008 has provided opportunity for electric consumers to harness solar energy to meet their electricity demand. Those on-grid consumers connected to CAPELCO or to any distribution utilities can still install solar panels in their rooftops and utilize solar energy not exceeding 100 kilowatts. To regulate and manage this activity, the Net-Metering Scheme was developed. This is now mandated by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) that allows users of renewable energy export their energy to their distribution utility.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Given the regulatory requirements of the installation, a group of net-metering installers were convened today to discuss recent issuances, compliances, standards and other procedural requirements that have to be put in place in order to make it compliant to the Philippine Grid Code and Philippine Distribution Code.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The participants were welcomed by OIC General Manager Kenneth G. Tipon and OIC IDSSD Manager Rey T. Cordenillo with Engr. Heinz Bernard Besana representing the TSD Manager, who actively participated in the ensuing discussion. The briefing was handled by Engr.
