As part of the preparation for the District Election of District V (Sigma and Dao) an orientation was conducted for the members of the District Election Committee (DECOM) and the Precinct Election Committee (PECOM) for school heads and teachers who volunteered to serve in the two committees.
Board President and Chairman of the BOD Committee on District Elections, Engr. Salvador A. Asis, explained the importance of the District Elections as the time where member-consumer-owners (MCOs) participate in the affairs of CAPELCO by electing their chosen representatives to its Board of Director. He explained the strategic importance of the Board of Directors because they are not just legislating policies but they also set the direction of the cooperative in terms of investment, operation and administrative policies.
Director Moises M. Paligumba, Jr. of District IX (Cuartero and Dumarao) expressed his gratitude for the school heads and teachers for volunteering to participate in the elections. The same message was echoed by Director Mitchelle John B. Patricio of District III (Pilar and President Roxas) saying that they really appreciate their efforts and assured them that the directors are serving the entire franchise area of Capiz and not just their own district.
The lone official candidate for District V (Sigma and Dao) Director Gilbert G. Upod expressed his gratitude to have served his district and in his re-election, he assured everyone that he will strive more to serve the MCOs of his district.
The guidelines for the District Elections was explained by Mr. Rey T. Cordenillo, Membership Services Division Supervisor and the participants was welcomed by Leonila F. Piansay of Dao Central School.
