CAPELCO engineers participated in the Philippine Association of Technical Managers of Electric Cooperatives (PHILATMEC). The gathering was considered CONVERGENCE because it gathered together Technical Service Managers and key personnel of 121 electric cooperatives in the country. The theme of the convergence is โACHIEVING THE GOALS OF RURAL ELECTRIFICATION: Recognizing the Role of Enhanced MCO Engagement in Powering Filipino Communities.โ
The engagement covered a wide range of topics ranging from Distribution Impact/Assets Study, Smart Distribution Utility Road Map, Embedded generation in the distribution network and updates on the energy regulatory framework. The Convergence also explores other options such as the perspective of Hydrogen in the energy sector, harnessing nuclear energy in the Philippines and developing renewable energy and facilities in the electric cooperatives setting. These are very significant as CAPELCO looks forward to more improvement of its services in the future.
CAPELCO was represented by Technical Services Department (TSD) Manager Engr. Don D. Baticados and Engineering Supervisor Engr. Heinz Bernard Besana. The event was graced by NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano “Nani” C. Almeda, PhilRECA Congressman Presley De Jesus and APEC Congressman Sergio Dagooc.
