The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) is a technology that provides real-time data, reduce human error, and play a crucial role in substation automation, allowing remote monitoring and control of equipment. This technology was adopted by CAPELCO to effectively manage its substations where engineers are using the technology 24-hour using enterprise-level software whose main task is to monitor and control an electrical grid system based on the information it collects from the substations within that system.
Years back, SCADA system was installed at Burgos and Lawaan Substations and have been very effective in managing CAPELCOโs distribution systemsโ assets and infrastructure. Finding value on the technology, the technology is now being expanded to cover Panitan substation. CAPELCO looks forward that all of its substations will be included under the SCADA system in the future.
