PANITAN SUBSTATION SCADA OFFICIALLY POWERED UP

The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) installed at Panitan Substation is now operational. The activation was done early morning today during the scheduled power interruption made for the purpose.
The latest to be added into the SCADA System is Panitan Subtation powered by two 10 MVA Power Transformers with four feeder lines serving Municipalities of Panitan, Maayon, Sigma, Pontevedra, Panay and Barangays of Liong, Adlawan, Loctugan , Bago and Olotayan, Roxas City.
Adopting this technology is beneficial in the operation particularly the control and monitoring of voltage, current, power factor and loading, at any given time remotely done from the SCADA control room. It also helps faster and easier response when line faults occur and minimize loss of revenue due to prolong unscheduled power interruptions.
At present, CAPELCO operates three (3) Substations which are SCADA-ready and sooner will install the same technology at three (3) remaining CAPELCO substations.
