CAPELCO SUPPORTS REGIONAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAM FOR WORKERS IN THE GOVERNMENT’S RURAL ELECTRIFICATION PROGRAM

Electric Cooperatives (ECs) in Western Visayas Region signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) which seeks to establish partnership mechanism with the ECs for scholarship, competency assessment for young applicants and conduct of capability building for TESDA trainors and assessors on trainings that are directly related to rural electrification. The MOA desires to supply the ECs with trained workers able to construct line extensions, housewiring installations and other skilled workers who can work to promote electrification in the countryside.
Apart from CAPELCO, the ECs that signed the MOA are ILECO I, ILECO II, ILECO III, AKELCO, ANTECO, GUIMELCO, NONECO AND NOCECO represented by their respective General Managers and Human Resource Managers. CAPELCO was represented by its Administrative Chief Kenneth Emmanuel G. Tipon.
