The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC) of the Roxas City Government convened today with Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas presiding. The council tackled the Local Climate Change Adaptation Plan (LCCAP) and the reprogramming of previous years budgetary savings that can be used to emerging priorities and disaster-related interventions.
One of the major measures adopted was the Resolution recommending to declare Roxas City under the state of calamity in the light of the El Niรฑo phenomenon experienced by the country. There has been much damages incurred the agriculture, fishery and livestock sector that has already threaten food security.
Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas also expressed his gratitude to CAPELCO for energizing the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) that are touted to become the 911 operation center that shall cater to the emergency need of the city residents. CAPELCO was represented by Mr. Rey Cordenillo and Mr. Garry Bernas who ironically were both classmate of the mayor.
