Of the 45 applicants from Barangay Cabugao, Roxas City, 13 of them had their housewiring installed and ready to be energized. The Socialized Energization of Marginalized Applicants (SEMA) for electric services connection is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project of CAPELCO which provide opportunity for marginalized applicants to have access to electric service connection that is safe, convenient and affordable. The project provides a package of housewiring materials and installation, payment of coop fees and charges and energization where the actual cost of which is added on top of their monthly bill for a period of twelve (12) months.
As an added feature of the project, students of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT) are being involved to enable them to learn how to install housewiring under the close supervision of CAPELCO engineer. This enables them to undergo actual experience as they have their on-the-job training (OJT) at CAPELCO.
