WESM SETTLEMENT TRAINING AND KUMUSTAHAN WITH VISAYAS ELECTRIC COOPERATIVES

CAPELCO participated in the Negros and Panay Leg of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) Settlement Training and Kamustahan with electric cooperatives in Western Visayas. The event was an offshoot of the KAMUSTAHAN organized by the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives (PhilRECA) last October 9, 2024 at Quezon City which aimed at threshing issues on the rising transmission charges in view of the reserve market and updates on the line rental concerns.
The event was participated by the Electric Cooperatives Association for Region VI (ECAR VI) and the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP) that serve as Market Operator of (WESM) represented in the event by its President and CEO Richard J. Nethercott. The event provided the participants with a walk through on WESM settlement processes and an opportunity to raise their concerns during the open forum provided during the event.
CAPELCO as represented in the event by Engr. Don. D. Baticados, Engr. Allan Greg R. Belo and Engr. Renato G. Jison who joined General Managers and other technical personnel of Electric Cooperatives (ECs) who are members of ECAR VI led by its President GM Shirley S. Laurente.
