CAPELCO Warriors of Light Shine at 2025 Regional Lineman’s Rodeo Competition.

The Capiz Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CAPELCO) Liner workers team participated in the 2025 Regional Lineman’s Rodeo Competition, hosted by the Electric Cooperatives Association of Region VI (ECAR VI) on May 29, 2025, at the Aklan Electric Cooperative, Inc. headquarters., Lezo, Aklan.
Led by Engr. Don Baticados, Technical Services Department (TSD) Manager, &Engr. Junner Gonzales, Supervisor, Engineering Construction Division, the CAPELCO contingent consisted of Coach Gerald D. Condino, Leadman Ramel B. Distura, and linemen Rodel D. Sombilla, Jomar D. Dipon, Roben D. Daliva, Benjie M. Borbon, and Ross V. C. Fadirugao.
The CAPELCO team delivered an impressive performance during the Pole Undressing Competition who garnered the 2nd place. Also silver medals in Wood pole erection, Wood pole dressing, Emergency response and first aid, Rodeo King event by the ECAR VI Team.
Additionally, ECAR VI garnered bronze trophies in the relay categories, namely: Wood pole climbing, Conductor riding, Knot tying
The 2025 Regional Lineman’s Rodeo Competition is an initiative made by PHILRECA (Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association) showcasing the skills and expertise of Lineworkers from different regions in Visayas.
Participating Regions were, Central Visayas Electric Cooperatives Association (CEVECA), Federation of Rural Electric Cooperatives in Region 8 (FRECOR and Electric Cooperatives Association of Region VI (ECAR VI)- the host Region, with support from ECAR VI President and General Manager Shirley Laurente, who led a delegation of nine electric cooperatives from Region VI.
