A strong partnership between power and press took center stage as the 19th Tri-Media Fellowship of the Capiz Electric Cooperative (CAPELCO) successfully gathered 171 media practitioners from across the province for a day of dialogue, recognition, and celebration. A Best Practice of CAPELCO and a tradition that has faithfully upheld since 2005.
The program formally opened with Mr. Rey Dela Cruz, who delivered the opening remarks and acknowledged CAPELCO’s consistent efforts in organizing the fellowship for media practitioners in Capiz. He underscored the importance of the event in strengthening trust and cooperation between the electric cooperative and the media, whom he described as vital partners in public information and accountability.
In his welcome message, Engr. Edgar D. Diaz, CAPELCO Acting General Manager, warmly welcomed the participants and expressed his gratitude for the continued support of the media. He also presented CAPELCO’s major accomplishments over the past year, alongside its future plans and development projects aimed at meeting the growing needs of Capiz.
Engr. Diaz emphasized that while development in the province and the city continues to unfold, CAPELCO is already preparing for what lies ahead. “We anticipate future growth,” he said, stressing that the electric cooperative is proactively strengthening its systems to accommodate the expected increase in electricity consumption province-wide in the coming years.
Adding to the message of unity and recognition, Director Salvador Asis, CAPELCO Board President, affirmed that the cooperative will always acknowledge the vital role of the media as an integral part of CAPELCO’s operations, especially in ensuring informed and empowered consumers.
The fellowship was further honored by the presence of Roxas City Mayor Hon. Ronnie T. Dadivas, who served as the guest speaker. Mayor Dadivas expressed his full support for CAPELCO and encouraged media organizations to continue working hand in hand with the cooperative for the benefit of the public. “Let’s support CAPELCO Let’s defend Capelco let’s support each other our
for a progressive Roxas City and developing CAPIZ.” Mayor Ronnie said.
The celebration continued with Part II of the program, featuring the much-anticipated CAPELCO Tri-Media Got Talent Competition, showcasing the creativity and talents of media practitioners beyond the newsroom. The event also included the awarding of prizes to winners of various sports activities held in the days leading up to the fellowship.
More than just an annual gathering, the 19th Tri-Media Fellowship stood as a testament to CAPELCO’s enduring partnership with the media—one powered by collaboration, trust, and a shared vision for a brighter and more progressive Capiz.
