Director Mitchelle John B. Patricio of District III (Pilar and President Roxas) introduced himself as their new Director and explained that it is their intention to meet the Punong Barangays, to gather their feedbacks on the services and operation of CAPELCO, and to answer and clarify questions that the barangays may have. He announced that he is accompanied by the team of CAPELCO personnel to help answer questions, explain details of things in the power industry that has an impact into the barangays and finally to document actionable concerns that the barangays will raise.
He announced that the Pilar and President Roxas area may not currently enjoy the technology available in Roxas City and recently in Panitan Substations such as the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) but in the long term, this is also going to be deployed at President Roxas Substation. This is very useful in the projection of load, in monitoring voltage and to locate the indicative location of line fault during emergency power interruption.
CAPELCO announced that starting March 2024, individual accounts can now be paid online via Gcash, Maya and Palawan platforms. It was also announced the that capacity of President Roxas Substation was upgraded from 5 MVA to 10 MVA to meet the growing power demand in the area. CAPELCO also campaigned to the barangays to help during line clearing operation, observance of the demand side load management and anti-pilferage.
During the open forum, the concerns raised of the Punong Barangays was to review the line connections in the coastal areas, rehabilitation of kilowatt hour meters, fixing dangling lines and cases of low voltage and the like. It was explained that all these concerns will be inspected and evaluated as to the appropriate interventions is to be undertaken to address the concern.
CAPELCO personnel who joined Director Mitchelle John B. Patricio were Area Manager Jennel V. Javellana, MSD Supervisor Rey Cordenillo, Planning and Design Head Francisco Basques, District Engineer Engr. Clark Alaro and BAPA Foreman Bemboy Dellota. Former CAPELCO Director and currently the Vice Mayor/Acting Mayor of President Roxas Hon. Braulio Godfrey P. Asis also graced the meeting.
Director Patricio also distributed electric fans to each of the barangay as a gesture of appreciation for their continued support to CAPELCO.
