MULTISECTORAL CONSULTATIVE ASSEMBLY AND INFORMATION EDUCATION CAMPAIGN (IEC) ACTIVITIES FOR DISTRICT I

BOD Vice President Director Dante B. Bermejo who represents District I (Panay and Panitan) addressed an assembly composed of the Mayor, Vice Mayor, Sangguniang Bayan Members, Punong Barangays and Principal/School Heads of the Municipality of Panay to implement the customary conduct of the Information Education Campaign (IEC) required from each of the EC Director by the National Electrification Administration (NEA).
He discussed the strategic direction of CAPELCO especially its adoption of new technology such as the online payment, read bill and deliver scheme in meter reading, SMS bill notification and the establishment of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition which greatly improved CAPELCO’s collection and response to power interruptions. He proudly announced that in the March bill period, there was a reduction in CAPELCO’s monthly rate of P1.776 per kilowatt hour which is a direct result of proper energy trading made by CAPELCO and through its campaign for systems loss reduction and anti-pilferage. He also explained the circumstances behind the widespread power interruption not only in Capiz but also in the entire Panay, Guimaras and Negros islands. He also encouraged the participants to follow CAPELCO’s social media page for information and for concern that they may have in terms of its services, inquiries and other form of assistance.
Director Dante B. Bermejo expressed his gratitude to the municipal officials especially to Mayor Vicente B. Bermejo for giving him the time to discuss CAPELCO’s programs with the assembly. He also announced that he is giving rechargeable flashlights and LED lamps as a gesture of the continued support of the municipality and the barangays enabling CAPELCO to be classified as Triple A in the Mega large category in the last 7 years – the funds used to procure it was taken from the Cooperative Development Program of CAPELCO intended for it Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
