Help is on the way, Masbate!

In the spirit of unity and cooperation, today, September 30, 2025, CAPELCO has deployed its Task Force Kapatid to assist in restoring power lines and facilities for our sister cooperative, the 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐈𝐧𝐜. (MASELCO), in Masbate, which was significantly affected by Typhoon “Opong.”

The deployment is part of the NEA–PHILRECA–EC “Task Force Kapatid” program, which enables electric cooperatives nationwide to assist each other during disasters.

The CAPELCO team, led by Mr. Ramel B. Distura, includes the following members:

We are anticipating that the team will remain for around two weeks, bringing with them the CAPELCO boom truck as well as a utility vehicle.

Prior to their departure, Construction Division Supervisor Engr. Junner D. Gonzales, following the directives of our Acting General Manager, Engr. Edgar D. Diaz, held a toolbox meeting with our dedicated Warriors of Light. This meeting was intended to ensure they were prepared, safe, and coordinated as they set out to help restore power in the affected areas. This deployment highlights CAPELCO’s commitment to serving the community and helping our fellow electric cooperatives and our ongoing mission to provide light and hope during challenging times.

As they travel far from their homes to provide hope and service to people who are in need, we wish our Warriors of Light a safe journey and protection.
